Mahmoud El-Yassir, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist whose number one priority is to provide safe and quality-driven ophthalmic care to his patients. He has made numerous contributions to the field of ophthalmology, including several nationally and internationally published papers. His expertise includes refractive cataract surgery, to include the use of advanced lenses, as well as, advanced ocular pathologies, glaucoma, retinopathy and corneal conditions.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. El-Yassir earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Davis, and received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He went on to complete his ophthalmology training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he received advanced training in the medical and surgical treatment of ocular disease and conditions.
Dr. El-Yassir is a strong community service advocate, and has participated in a number of programs to promote public health and wellness to disadvantaged individuals. During his residency, he worked with several organizations including MedWorks Vision Clinic and The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland to provide complimentary ophthalmic care to uninsured and underinsured individuals.
As a bilingual individual, Dr. El-Yassir is fluent in both English and Arabic.
